KENNEBUNK, Maine (AP) — As long as they still have each other, they're still going to go to every Super Bowl. That's the sentiment shared by three friends who say they are the final fans who can claim membership in the exclusive “never missed a Super Bowl” club. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills know the feeling all too well. But the Bills fell short of their ultimate goal Sunday night with a 27-24 loss in the divisional round — again — and against the Kansas City Chiefs — again. It was the third straight year the Bills' season ended in this round of the playoffs. Tyler Bass missed a 44-yard field goal attempt with 1:43 left, and the Chiefs ran out the clock from there.

Nearly four years after a Bronx building collapse killed an Ecuadorean construction worker crushed under 1000 pounds of debris, three contractors have been charged in his death, one of a series of worksite fatalities that have raised alarms about a perilous industry. The contractors, Augustine Adesanmi, 67, Akhlak Choudhary, 54, and Abazi Okoro, 66, were all accused of criminally negligent homicide, among other charges, in the death of Segundo Huerta, a laborer at the building site on East 208th Street in Norwood, the Bronx district attorney said on Wednesday. “The horrendous death of Segundo Manuel Huerta Mayancela, who was buried under cinder blocks and metal sheets, was entirely preventable,” Darcel D. Clark, the district attorney, told reporters after the arraignments on Wednesday. “The construction site at 94 E. 208th St. was a death trap waiting to happen,” she added. Two of the contractors were arraigned on Tuesday in the Bronx Supreme Court; both were put on supervised release.
Brandon Johnson and Paul Vallas are facing off in the Chicago mayoral runoff election. The winning candidate will succeed Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who was the third-place finisher in the initial Feb. 28 mayoral election behind Vallas and Johnson, respectively, missing her chance to compete in the runoff. Garcia came in fourth place in the February mayoral election; in 2015, he was also a mayoral candidate, forcing then-Mayor Rahm Emanuel into a runoff election, which he eventually lost. According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, Vallas raised $6.4 million in the lead-up to the initial February mayoral election and has raked in at least $10.9 million since March 1. Johnson raised nearly $4 million before the February election and has taken in at least $5.8 million since March 1.
J.P.MORGAN:"We believe that the Ethereum Merge and really the Ethereum Surge could be a big factor in terms of increasing the use-cases for blockchain into new areas, including financial services," analysts said in an early December note. The Ethereum Merge was a major software upgrade to the Ethereum blockchain that went live in September and reduced its energy usage by 99.95%, according to developers. "We continue to see the Ethereum Surge as a catalyst for development in the cryptocurrency markets, which appears at least 6-12 months away." "From the China crackdown to the several price crashes in earlier 2022, crypto mining has shown an approximately 1-to-1 price-power relationship. Norwood expects the crypto market to pick up in about six months.
